A Purposed Heart!!?!

A Purposed Heart ( Food for Thought)daniel 18

Reference Daniel Chapter 1 (verse 8-9)

This past Sunday I decided to join a dear friend for morning worship and brunch afterwards. Interestingly enough, the speaker talked about know your spiritual DNA. Understanding and being aware of who you are in Christ or whom you believe.  The bible reference was from Daniel 1

( with special attention to verse 8).

Daniel 1:8 states: ( KJV) But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

Please read the entire chapter, in the story Daniel and others are before the King and are afforded the rights to part take in some of the best of food and wine. Yet, because of a purposed heart Daniel declined the King’s offer in order to please God despite how enticing being apart make him look or feel to others.

As the speaker being to minister to the congregation, this instantly reminder me of my own purposed heart of vows I had set before God at the start of the year. As I sat in my seat and listened to the Word being relayed to me, I began to pray and ask God for his forgiveness on my behalf of failing many times to keep myself aligned with the vows of my heart to keep. My prayer in a nutshell was for God to KEEP me from those things that seem hard to stray from, those things that I have purposed in my heart to rid myself of in order to receive the blessings and promises of God. In addition, I also, prayed that God would search, clean and soothe my heart of old things that they may past away and that I will truly let go and Forgive.

In closing, I ask that you will purpose in your heart to do somethings differently. Purpose in your heart to stand for something other than yourself and commune with GOD, so that you can move forward in forgiveness, move forward in love, move forward culturally, financially, emotionally, educationally. I encourage you to review those vision boards, prayer journals, love letters to God and reset NOW.

Until next time… Eat… Prai….Love
